Classes & Lessons

We offer a number of ways for students to train at The Yard. We are equipped with multiple batting cages, video training technology, pitching mounds and lots of space to work on your skills. Depending on what you are looking to work on or the setting under which you would like to learn, there are a number of packages that will fit your needs.

Meet The Yard Staff



- Played college baseball at Oregon State University (1995 - 1998)

- First Team All Pac-10 Selection

- Second Team Freshman All-American

- Invited to be a member on the US Olympic Baseball Team (1997)

- Drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 5th Round (1998)

- Continued his career with the LA Angels at the AA and AAA Level

- Owner and Instructor at the academy since it opened in 2008



- Played college baseball at Mt. Hood CC (2003 - 2004) and George Fox University (2005 - 2006)

- Two Time All League Player at George Fox

- Graduated with a degree in Marketing and Management

- Assistant Coach at George Fox for 6 seasons (2007 - 2012)

- Owner/Instructor/Director of Marketing since the academy opened in 2008



- Played college baseball at Mt. Hood CC and W. Oregon University

- All League Pitcher with Mt. Hood CC in 2000

- Won NWAACC Championship with Mt. Hood in 2000

- Played Amateur Baseball (2006 - 2014)

- Active in the USWC Taekwondo Association

- Instructor at the academy over the past 8 seasons



- All-Mountain West Conference team ('05,'06)

- Louisville Slugger second team All-American, Baseball America third team All-American ('06)

- Mountain West Conference Co-Pitcher of the Year, shared with Jake Arietta ('06)

- June 7, 2006, drafted 45th round, 1345th pick overall to the Texas Rangers.

- December 21, 2007, traded along with Edinson Volquez to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for Josh Hamilton

- June 3, 2008, made MLB debut with the Cincinnati Reds

- May 23, 2011, claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers

- August 31, 2011, traded to the New York Mets in exchange for Francisco Rodriguez

- Played in the independent Atlantic league for the Long Island Ducks, Somerset Patriots, and Camden Riversharks ('13-'15)



-  Starting Catcher at George Fox University for 4 years

-  NCAA DIII West Region Catcher of the Year in 2014

-  First Team NCAA DIII All American Catcher in 2014

-  Currently catching in the Tampa Bay Rays organization



- Four year starter at The University of Arizona who hit .320 in 616 career at-bats

- Tied for 10th in school history in stolen bases (54)

- Went 20-for-20 stealing bases as a senior

- Led the team in stolen bases as a sophomore (13), junior (8) and senior (20)

- Played outfield as a freshman, second base as a sophomore and outfield again as a junior and senior

- Three-time member of the Pac-12 all-academic team

- Double-majored in Retailing & Consumer Sciences as well as Family Studies & Human Development

- Currently employed by NIKE working at WHQ
